Kate goes to prom!

This weekend, I did something that I have not done in 7 years. I went to prom! No, I did not go as anyone's date. My friend Kate is a high school teacher and asked if I would help chaperone and so that's what I did! Over the past few weeks, Kate was pretty stressed out with prom planning (she was the prom advisor) and so I told her that I would be her "prom slave"! We commenced with "proming" at 11:00 am!! We had to run errands and decorate and coordinate and all that kind of stuff! It was awesome! The theme was "Midnight in Monte Carlo" so she had a portion of the prom hall designated as a Casino. My job was to run a black jack table. The most interesting part of the evening was listening to the other chaperones talk about prom. You could tell who had a good prom experience and who didn't by their attitudes towards the event. I, personally, had a delightful prom! So, thanks needs to be extended to my prom date, Kyle, where ever you are...thanks! But it was fun to see the kids dressed up and enjoying one of their final high school experiences. It made me thankful that I had such a lovely high school experience... it also made me thankful that I am not in high school anymore!

Adventures in Kate's Kitchen!

So, I attempted something today that I have never attempted before...I cooked fish! First of all, you should all be impressed that I am eating fish in the first place. I don't particularly enjoy fish, or sea food for that matter, but it's so healthy for you so I am forcing myself to add it to my diet. So, when I went grocery shopping on Tuesday, I picked up a half-pound of fresh Salmon. So, tonight for dinner I made broiled salmon with a brown sugar and ginger sauce with steamed carrots as my side dish. I was totally open to this going badly, but it was actually quite tasty! Not bad for my first time with fish! So, on other matters... Lost was amazing last night! I'm not really going to say anything for all those who haven't seen it yet, but leave your thoughts!!
