Don't take it out on the tree frog
New episode last night! What did you all think? Persoanlly, I didn't think it was the greatest episode. It was interesting, but I don't feel like I really found out any great, new information. I did come to a few conclusions after last night's episode. 1. Sawyer, as good looking as he is, is a jerk. 2. I really don't like Anna Lucia. 3. Syaid is still in the "anger" stage of the grieving process. 4. Since there is no Starbuck's on the island to make them feel better, they all need therapy (good thing there is a clinical psychologist on the island)! 5. There is only one tree frog on the island, and it is really loud! 6. We can say with great certainty that Sawyer was/is not a member of PETA. Did you all notice that the American Soldier that captured Sayid was Kate's dad?! When they were in the truck, the man asked Sayid if he had a wife or children and they showed him looking at a picure... the picture was Kate! So, here are my questions for the week...
1. Is Henry telling the truth about himself or is he an "other"?
2. When the clock hit '0', it flipped through some wierd hyroglyphic looking picutres, what do you think about that?
3. Did the clock re-set itself, or did Locke get the numbers in on time?
4. What was the significance of the whole Sawyer/Hurly tree frog storyline?
Hmmm... deep thoughts!

I didn't watch Lost last night, but I do have a comment to make. Whether it is worthwhile or not is up to you.
So, the other night Daniel was at the computer and I started talking to him about how I don't find Sawyer attractive. Normally, Daniel wouldn't be interested in this conversation, but I had trapped him at his beloved machine, so he had no choice but to sit and listen while playing his video game. Anyway, there is just something about Sawyer that screams "drowned rat" to me. Also, I've never been really into the "bad boy" image. (Daniel showed Janet Reno how to hack a computer once. I'm not kidding and yes, this is one of the many reasons I love him.)
In conclusion, I don't find Swayer particularly attractive, but he is whole lot higher on my scale then say, Leon Bibb.
Well, this answers Jim's question.
1. As much as I'd like Henry to be normal, I'm hunching he's an other. He gave a look towards the end of the episode that seemed to telegraph his slyness. That, and there are some intereting parallels between what his story and "The Wizard of Oz." ...which also paralles with Pink Floyd and that had ties to Charlie's episode, which also had... oh dear, I've gone recursive.
2. How bad is it that I have the heiroglyphs on my white-board at work? Current scuttlebutt is that they are egyptian for "cause to die." Interesting... there's also a rumor that it is "pronounced" (as much as one can pronounce a 3000 year old dead language) "Hanso." During the reseting of the counter, a heiroglyph that represents "child" was briefly flashed. Which leads into comment 3.
3. Could Walt have been the one to reset the counter and not Locke?
4. Not sure about the significance, other then they are really playing up the "Sawyer doesn't want to be liked" motif. It seems like they could have waited a few more episodes to pull it, unless it was because Sawyer's episode was supposed to be aired earlier in the season?
The first season I really had high regard for the majority of the characters on the show, now most of them are annoying the heck out of me as they get more dysfunctional.
Sawyer schools Leon.
(Sorry, Ash).
Okay, so Daniel and I finally watched this episode last night. Here are my thoughts:
1. There are certain food items that should never come in large containers. Ranch dressing is one of them. Basically anything sour cream or mayo based falls into this category.
2. I can see how being on that island would cause your priorities to get a little out of whack and perhaps you, too, would want to kill a tree frog. I don't think Sawyer is crazy. He's just a little "off."
3. Henry is totally an "other." First off, Daniel and I were listing the rolls we've seen that actor play and they were all psychos/bad guys. Second, he said his wife's name was "Jennifer Murphy." Both of those are incredibly common names that seem like they were just pulled from the top of his head when he needed to come up with them. Finally, I trust Sayid and if he says the guy is an "other" I believe him.
